This is the application for the Community Listening and Engagement Fund. This fund will provide subsidies to newsrooms solely to be used for their first year using Hearken or GroundSource engagement services.
In order to qualify for this subsidy, you must meet the following requirements:
- The organization must be a U.S. based newsroom, or have a fiscal sponsor in the U.S.
- The organization must be able to cover a portion of the expenses associated with Hearken and / or GroundSource -- the percentage subsidy will depend on a newsroom’s resources and ability to pay and the availability of funds.
- The organization must commit to integrating these Hearken and/or GroundSource into their editorial workflow.
- If awarded a CLEF subsidy, your newsroom agrees to participate in a study conducted by the Lenfest Institute for Journalism.
If your organization fails to meet these requirements, your application will be rejected, or, if awarded a subsidy, the organization could be asked to repay the subsidy back to the Lenfest Institute.
Please complete your application by midnight EST on Friday, June 1st, 2018.
